In the ruins of our ship’s shattered control panel, something glinted—a ring of metallic shards fused into perfect alignment. It pulsed with a familiar rhythm, as if trying to resume navigation despite having no ship left to steer. We wore it on the wrist, half adornment, half relic of the machine that carried us here, still trying—against all odds—to guide us home.
